پیام تسلیت با اندوه فراوان آگاهی یافتم که ژورنالیست، نویسنده و روزنامه نگار جوان و مستعد کشور فهیم دشتی جهان فانی را وداع گفت و به ابدیت پیوست. انا لله و انا الیه راجعون مرحوم فهیم دشتی از منتقدین سرسخت حکومت من و یک صدای رسا برای آزادی بیان بود . نبودش یک ضایعه است. مراتب تسلیت و همدردی خود را به خانواده و دوستان مرحوم فهیم دشتی ابراز داشته از بارگاه خداوند لایزال برای متوفی بهشت برین و برای بازمانده‌گانش صبر جمیل استدعا دارم.

It was with great sadness I learned that the young and talented writer and journalist of the country, Fahim Dashty, said goodbye to the mortal world and joined eternity.

The late Fahim Dashti is one of the staunch critics of my government and a clear voice for freedom of speech. Its absence is a loss.
I have expressed my condolences and sympathies to the family and friends of the late Fahim Dashty. May Allah rest his soul in eternal peace and grant him the highest place in Jannah

فهیم دشتی یک روزنامه نگار پرشور بود، یکی از افراد کمیاب که وقتی حتی یک بار هم او را ملاقات می کنید، فراموشش نمی‌کنید. من او را از جولای 2001 می‌شناختم، هدف او راه اندازی مجدد “هفته نامه کابل” بود که توسط طالبان ممنوع شده بود. من می‌خواستم یک سازمان غیردولتی ایجاد کنم تا به احیای رسانه‌های افغانستان کمک کند که طالبان به معنای واقعی کلمه و به طور کامل آنها را نابود کرده بودند. او به ستون رسانه‌های افغانستان تبدیل شد، به تأسیس اتحادیه روزنامه نگاران کمک کرد، بسیاری دیگر را آموزش داد، خستگی ناپذیر، بی وقفه، همیشه با لبخند و با تکرار کلمه مورد علاقه خود “آزادی”. او سخنگوی جبهه مقاومت ملی افغانستان شد، من یک روز قبل از ترورش توسط طالبان با او صحبت کردم. او مثل همیشه آرام و با لبخند بود و مطمئن بود که مقاومت در برابر طالبان به هدف خود یعنی “آزادی” خواهد رسید. من هم این را باور دارم دوست من.
Reza Deghati, a prominent photographer, is the founder of AINA media and cultural center, in which the late Dashty also played a pivotal role as one of the co-founders.
Faheem Dashty was a passionate journalist, one of those rare people whom you never forget when you meet him even once. I have known him since July 2001, his goal was to re-launch Kabul Weekly, which was banned by the Taliban. I wanted to create an NGO to help revive the Afghan media, which the Taliban had literally and completely destroyed. He became a pillar of the Afghan media, helped establish the Union of Journalists, trained many others, tireless, relentless, always with a smile and repeating his favorite word “freedom”. He became the speaker of the national resistance of Afghanistan, I spoke with him the day before he was assassinated by the Taliban. As always, he was calm and smiling and was sure that the resistance against the Taliban would reach its goal of “freedom”. I believe this too, my friend.

فهیم دشتی از حمله انتحاری القاعده که در آن احمد شاه مسعود در سال 2001 کشته شد جان سالم به در برد، او در همان اتاقی حضور داشت که رهبرش کشته شد اما فهیم پس از 20 سال در جنگ با طالبان در پنجشیر جان خود را از دست داد.
Fahim Dashti survived the suicide attack of Al Qaeda in which Ahmad Shah Masood was killed in 2001, he was present in the same room where his leader was killed but Fahim lost his life after 20 years fighting against Taliban in Panjsher.
