As a key figure in Afghan media, Ms. Dashty has played a vital role in advocating for journalists, defending freedom of speech, and amplifying the voices of Afghan women in the fight for equality and justice.
The medal was presented at a special ceremony attended by Ali Ehsassi, Member of Parliament for Canada, where outstanding individuals from various fields, including media, culture, law, education, and public service, were recognized for their exceptional contributions.
