June 16, 2025, London, UK- Sayara Dashty, the Director of the Fahim Dashty Foundation, met with several journalists from Afghanistan in London. During this meeting, discussions were held about the state of the media in Afghanistan, challenges in accessing information, the Taliban’s pressure on domestic media, censorship imposed by the Taliban, the oppressive environment for journalists inside the country, and the situation of refugee journalists in Iran and Pakistan.
Ms. Dashty called for solidarity and support for refugee journalists in third countries, stating that the Fahim Dashty Foundation is actively working to gather support and advocate for Afghanistan’s journalists in neighbouring countries. Journalists from London-based media outlets expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the Fahim Dashty Foundation in supporting free media, journalists, and the right to access information.
